Cat control can be a very emotive subject however we cannot lose site of the damage that these feral pest cause to our beautiful environment.
We use a host of different trapping techniques from leg hold to cage trap plus many exclusion methods. KOPC only carries out cat control related to the feral/stray cat population. This is only after careful consideration so as to minimise any chance of catching a domesticated cat.
All trapped cats are scanned for a micro chip. They are assessed using a 4 point assessment technique to determine if the cat is a domestic pet or a stray/ feral.
If we trap a domestic cat it’s released. If the cat is Feral and has no chance of rehabilitation the animal may be euthanised.
We provide these services for Federal and State Government, large and small industrial sites and National Parks and Wildlife.
All care and consideration is given in relation to RSCPA requirements and the Companion Animals Act. Please see the video that shows how to set a cage to trap a cat and the behaviour of a feral cat once trapped.
